Video streaming giant YouTube underwent a sudden and unexpected outage last week, where the users across mobile and the website found it down and inaccessible for over an hour. This greatly affected the subscribers of YouTube TV and YouTube Music. Google has apologized for the breakdown by offering a free week of credit to its YouTube TV subscribers.

In their note to subscriber’s they say:

We’re sorry about the unexpected YouTube TV interruption on October 16th. We love our TV as much as you do, and our goal is to make sure that you can access your events and shows – whenever and however you want. To help make this right, we’d like to give you a week of free service.

This is the second event this year when the service has service has faced such outage. Previously, during the streaming of the FIFA Wold Cup, similar incidences were noted when the service went down during the highly awaited match between England and Croatia.

A form has been rolled out to the YouTube TV subscribers, via email, which needs to filled out before 11:50PM PT, Wednesday October 24th, in order to avail the $10 credit note.
