Singapore-based seed capital fund Javelin Startup-O Victory Fund is a collaboration between a curation platform Startup-O and Javelin Wealth Management. Today, it has revealed the details of two more Singapore startups which will be receiving seed funding under its portfolio.
The startups that have been shortlisted via Startup-O’s platform are Serv.sg, and HackerTrail in addition to Impress.ai and Whizpace.com. They are specializing in AI, IoT, SaaS and recruitment tech respectively. The announcement regarding the funding received by Impress.ai was made about two months ago. The firm assists large enterprises who hire at scale by offering an AI-powered job interview platform that uses chatbots to autonomously conduct candidate interviews.
While, Whizpace round was disclosed last month. The startup leverages TV white space technology to convert underutilised TV spectrum to super wi fi for remote areas.
Apart from these, Serv.sg, with its sophistciated SaaS platform, helps consumers to find home services by offering a one stop app. And, HackerTrail helps MNCs and growth-stage startups that are seeking to hire tech talent by offering a data-driven curated marketplace of such talent already engaged and pre-qualified for the job.
The official press statement also reveals, that UK-based fintech company Paidup.io is also one of the winners at the platform. With a presence in emerging markets like the Philippines, it re-incorporated in Singapore for better access to the Southeast Asian markets with the support of Startup-O.
The fund is targeting to invest up to $500,000 in 3-5 startups on the platform from each batch after a ten-week selection process. These startups are were selected on the Startup-O’s platform that works on curating promising startups from across South East Asia & beyond using its unique methodologies combining the art of assessment by a community of experts and science of rating algorithms. Since its first intake in November 2016, 308 tech startups from 12 countries & 15 nationalities have applied on the platform and 159 startups have been selected to undergo the program. It is now accepting applications for its fourth cohort starting in August 2017.
