Amazon, Alexa, amazon prime, prime now

As per a recent survey, price is the most important factor when it comes to the purchase of smart speakers. By smart speakers, we mean the likes of Google Home, Amazon Echo, or the Apple HomePod. And if that is true, then Apple’s speakers could well lose its edge.

According to the Morning Consult Survey, as many as 30 percent of people said that price was the most important factor when it came to the purchase of smart speakers. On the other hand, 14 percent said that the accuracy of the device was the most important factor.

The survey took almost 2,200 people into account, and was conducted between June 8 and June 12. The poll was conducted after the Cupertino giant’s HomePod was first released. So yeah, there is a high probability that most of the people were likely already aware of the options on the table before them.

Intelligent assistants have certainly come a long way and are more capable than ever. From giving you the news to, helping you sift through the e-mail, and to turning on your light — there is really no limit to what these smart speakers can do and the list is only growing. The trend that begun with Amazon Echo now knows no boundaries and the cult of people relying upon smart speakers is only growing.

Meanwhile, the fact that people are depending upon price as the most important factor in their purchase of smart speakers could bode ill for Apple. The company’s HomePod is one of the most expensive speakers out there — with a price tag of $349. Actually, it is not out there, and will go on sale later in the year.

Comparatively, Amazon Echo sells for $179, although after discounts it sometimes retails for as low as $139. On the other hand, Google Home usually sells for $129 and is currently retailing for $109.  And since these systems are something you may want to keep several at your place (particularly if you have a big house) this could well go against Apple.

Siri after all, isn’t nearly as impressive against its competitors as iPhone is against Android, or Windows smartphones.
