Zoho, one of the most successful SaaS companies to come out of India, is not planning to get listed, according to the statement from the company’s president Raj Sabhlok.
In an interview with Business Standard, he said:
We will not be listing, it is not of our interest. We only want to answer to our customers and our employees. We like our freedom. We have four to five different businesses; such as agriculture, medical software, medical device start-ups within our company, and if we raise funds, we cannot have that freedom.
Notably, Zoho is fully bootstrapped since its inception, and has refused to raise external funding. Earlier, Sridhar Vembu, founder of the company, had said that many investors are making funding offers, but they refused all offers as they do not want to raise external funding.
Raj also said that with Zoho.com — the cloud business applications, they want to introduce every application functionality a business would require. The company is already offering CRM, human resource functions for the HR teams and finance applications.
He further adds that the company also covers IT, with help desk, mobile device management, monitoring applications, etc, which are all ManageEngine applications marketed by Zoho. ManageEngine has also started selling marketing applications.
ManageEngine is a division of Zoho Corporation, which claims to be a leading provider of IT management software. It supports IT teams to manage networks, applications, help desk and more. The products can be downloaded and deployed without any third party support. As per the company, more than 90,000 companies around the world — including three of every five Fortune 500 companies — use ManageEngine’s products.
In the interview, Raj further said that they are coming up with an offering where they’ll offer all the Zoho products under one umbrella called Zoho One. He says,
It will be incredibly inexpensive for both small businesses as well as the large businesses. We are making it somewhat of a utility for a low price; we are going to make all Zoho products available to everybody within a business. Zoho One is slowly coming out and it should be fully out by the end of this year. I think it is going to rapidly grow our customer base.
