Twitter has announced a couple of brand new deals aimed towards netting it more live content for its platform. Among the deals announced, is a multi-year agreement that will let the company stream live football over its platform.

Announcing the deal, NFL said:

The NFL and Twitter, who have collaborated since 2013 through the Amplify program, will offer brands the opportunity to advertise on official NFL content created specifically for the Twitter platform. The deal breaks new ground in creative live programming and video-on-demand content.

Also included is a 30-minute live digital show produced by NFL, that will air on the website five days per week during the season. This particular program will see some of the best and biggest NFL Network talent and will consists of stuff like breaking news, game highlights, key storylines, fantasy projections, team power rankings, pre-game updates, and more.

NFL will also be using Periscope to bring fans unique live pre-game access from each of its primetime game windows. The league and the social networking platform will also be providing viewers with things like player warm-ups and sideline interviews, under its NFL live broadcasts.

Speaking on the topic, Brian Rolapp, chief media and business officer for the NFL said:

We have every expectation that the new daily live show, produced by NFL Network and featuring some of our top analysts, will quickly become some of the most popular programming on Twitter.

Twitter COO Anthony Noto added:

We are very excited to offer football fans around the world even more content on Twitter from the NFL. This new multiyear collaboration will bring compelling live studio programs that discuss what’s happening in the NFL, unique behind the scenes live broadcasts before games, and the best NFL highlights to Twitter, alongside the real-time NFL conversation.

Well, Amazon may have snatched the rights to stream NFL’s highly popular Thursday Night Football games from Twitter, but it doesn’t seem like the social networking platform will have any dearth of content.
