Tesla, model y

Tesla’s Model 3 is arguably one of the most awaited cars of recent times. Sleek, a paradigm shift in electric vehicles, Tesla is betting on making volume sales of the Model 3 and when the car comes out, it will be the culmination of a mountainous load of effort. Well, Elon Musk has taken to Twitter again and this time, he has announced that the final, production model of the car will be released in July. Interestingly, this will mark over a year from when we last got our last good close look at the car in April 2016, when it was first unveiled.

That is not to say that we have been totally in the dark since last year. While nothing official was released, we did spot the Model 3 multiple times. For instance, the car was seen in a garage when Tesla showed off its solar tile product to the public late last year. The car was also spotted multiple times in spy shots as the cars were taken to real world testing around Tesla HQ. The company also released a short video that showed a Tesla accelerating. That particular version of the car was a release candidate however, it still wasn’t quite there yet.

As far as Model 3 specs are concerned, the vehicle won’t exactly awe and shock you — particularly since it will almost certainly be a lower end model than the Model S. It costs around $35,000 after all whereas the Model S starts off at more than double that price. Chronological order of release aside, users will be compromising upon specs and Musk has already confirmed that just because it is coming out late, the Model 3 isn’t the most advance vehicle and the Model S, is significantly better in terms of tech.

With that said though, this is the first Tesla EV that has truly been targeted towards the masses. As far as its specs are concerned, they are decent enough and the Model 3 is expected to be capable of churning out  a minimum of 215 miles of range. Musk has also mentioned a performance model of the Model 3 that will be higher ended and will probably cost more. This performance model 3  is expected to be released at least a year later.
