India’s leading theater franchise, PVR Cinemas has today launched India’s first VR lounge in partnership with Global IT company HP. The VR lounge opened in PVR ECX, Mall of India, Noida features four VR pods, which are powered by HP’s Omen desktops or laptops with HTC Vive headsets. Under this partnership, PVR further seeks to inaugurate about 10 such VR lounges across India by the year end.
The lounge will be available for free to PVR customers for next 15 days and after that, people who want to access the lounge facility will be charged Rs 100. Since the lounge offers over 15-20 minutes of immersive VR fun, early movie-goers can experience the technology installed while they wait for their movie to begin. The short duration of this VR experience will ensure that the audience’s focus is not strayed from the movie.

Currently, VR is the reigning trend in the entertainment industry. As industry experts predict, patrons will definitely have a great time exploring the fresh space in India. The four pods installed include HP Omen 870-260 which packs a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 graphics card and an HP Omen 17 W249TX and the W25TX which house the GTX 1060 and GTX 1070 GPUs respectively.

Audiences will also be provided with options from Disney, such as The BFG experience, The Jungle Book experience, and more.
