Xiaomi Mi 6 has been leaked many times in the past, and now the latest leak related to the phone suggests that it could get launched on April 16, this year. The news comes via Chinese website MyDrivers.
Interestingly, as per reports, the Mi 6 could be the first smartphone to be powered by the Snapdragon 835 processor. Further, it is said that, unlike with other flagship smartphones, the chipset would not be underclocked this time.
So far, the leaks have suggested that the Mi 6 will feature a 5.2-inch LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top. It is also being said that the phone could have a ceramic variant, just like what we’ve already seen with the now-discontinued OnePlus X.
Mi 6, which will be the successor to the Mi 5, is said to have a rear camera similar to that of the Xperia XZ Premium, meaning a 19MP lens which can shoot 960 fps slow motion videos at 720p.
The phone is expected to be available in three variants. The entry-level model will come with 4GB RAM with 32GB internal memory; mid-end variant will have 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory; while the top-end model with the ceramic body will come with 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal memory.
The pricing of the Mi 6 is reportedly going to start at CNY 1999 (or approx Rs 19,990). The variant with the ceramic body is said to be priced at CNY 2500 (or approx Rs 24,900).
While it may not be apparent, but Xiaomi is going through a rough time — just not as bad as LeEco. However, the phone maker is doing pretty good in the Indian market. Once the top-ranked smartphone maker, called the Apple of China, Xiaomi has now fallen from its top position in the home market.
Thus, it is crucial for the company to get success with its upcoming flagship smartphone Mi 6. In China, the company is facing intense competition from Oppo, Vivo, and Huawei. Recently, Xiaomi also unveiled its own processor Surge S1, which will be powering Mi 5C smartphone.
