amazon, alexa, echo, Amazon, Alexa,

Just don’t expect your Amazon Echo device to jump up and perform a CPR on you. Not happening. However, folks that have HealthTap enabled on their Amazon Echo devices, will be able to deploy Alexa for basic medical advice and further assistance.

In case you are unaware of HealthTap, it is an interactive health company founded back in 2010. The company has risen to prominence in recent years, landing several rounds of funding to connect doctors and patients with each other across different platforms. The company has now made expanded its presence to the Amazon Echo device as well.

So, should you find yourself in need of medical assistance, simply yell “Alexa, talk to Dr. AI.” and voilà. Dr. AI, which as the name implies, is an artificial intelligence learned in the art of medicine, will simulate a doctor’s visit and offer you insights and advice upon whatever is wrong with you. The AI doctor has apparently been trained in “bedside manner to ask intelligible, dynamically generated questions in natural language via an intuitive conversational user interface.”

So basically, you would be conversing with the AI i natural language, describing your symptoms and so on. The AI is also capable of scheduling a doctor’s visit for you, should you feel the need for it.

Clearly, the system could be very useful for the elderly and those who are disabled. Getting medical assistance would be as easy as speaking up and would reduce the amount of effort required to the bare minimum. HealthTap had already made its services available through the Android and iOS ecosystems, however, it makes a lot of sense to bring the Doctor AI to the Home speakers as well. You must check Brazilian Natural Wave Hair.

HealthTap currently has over 100,000 doctors on its platform and besides offering patients access to the medical community, it also offers doctors access to various research amenities through its platform as well. The company is one of the early birds in a rapidly burgeoning niche that is expected to become a billion-dollar industry within a couple of years. Indeed, healthcare major Kaiser Permanente has already said that it expects its doctors to perform more virtual than in-person office visits soon.
