The rumors about the launch of a brand new color for Samsung’s Galaxy S7 edge have finally come true. The South Korean company has announced that its Galaxy S7 edge will be available in a new “Black Pearl” color in select markets, starting tomorrow.
This is the seventh color option for the Galaxy S7 Edge after white pearl, black onyx, gold platinum, silver titanium, blue coral, and pink gold.
According to Samsung the new color is intended to be more “modern and striking,” while capturing “the essence of the color in its purest form.” It said that the all-black finish “radiates quality and luxury.”
The black finish covers the entire device including the edges adding a depth to its glass design. The result is a stylish all-black aesthetic that captures the essence of the color in its purest form.
The masterpiece offers a glossy finish and is only available in the 128GB versions of the smart phone. Interestingly, the new color has a striking similarity to…..well, you know, the Jet Black iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
This is not the first time Samsung has launched a color that is similar to its cut throat competitor Apple iPhone. Earlier this year, the company had launched its Galaxy S7 in Pink Gold after Apple launched the iPhone 6s in Rose Gold in 2015.
The news of the arrival of the new color came two months after Samsung announced that it will permanently discontinue the Galaxy Note 7 after the ill-fated battery-related issues.
The launch of the new color is followed by the rumors of Samsung’s next flagship Galaxy S8, expected to be launched in 2017 which can come with some unprecedented features like memory configuration and artificial intelligence based voice assistant. The flagship handset is also expected to support 256 GB storage variant.
Meanwhile, haters are going to say that Samsung has copied Apple again.
