Leaving behind the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung  has announced an unprecedented DRAM package. It will be introducing the industry’s first 8-gigabyte (GB) LPDDR4 (low power, double data rate 4) mobile DRAM package, which is expected to improve mobile user experiences to a great extent.

The package will also help speed up the launch of next-generation mobile devices with even more advanced performance. This amazing package will help especially those who are using Ultra HD, large-screen devices.

Joo Sun Choi, Executive Vice President of Memory Sales and Marketing at Samsung Electronics said,

The advent of our powerful 8GB mobile DRAM solution will enable more capable next-generation, flagship mobile devices around the world.

He added that they will continue to provide advanced memory solutions offering the highest values and leading-edge benefits to meet the escalating needs of devices having dual camera, 4K UHD and VR features.

The new 8GB LPDDR4 operates twice as fast as DDR4 DRAM for PCs working on average of 2,133 Mbps per pin.

This is not the first time Samsung has divulged a technology which is new to all. It was only 14 months before that Samsung introduced the industry-first 20-nanometer 12Gb LPDDR4 DRAM. Samsung is now, for the first time, introducing package of 8GB LPDDR4 DRAM, which will not only help advance performances of next generation mobile devices but will also provide for a much more efficient power consumption.
