Since its India debut, OnePlus smartphones have been exclusively available on Amazon India. However, that is going to change now. OnePlus has launched its own e-commerce portal — oneplusstore.in.
Visiting the website, which is especially for the Indian market, the landing page says, “Hello India! You asked, we listened. The official OnePlus Store for India is here.”
On its own e-commerce portal, the company is selling accessories and fan merchandises. Further, the website is also being used to provide more information about experience service centers.
It must be noted that currently, the company is only selling its accessories on the portal. Clicking on the smartphone link redirects to the smartphone’s landing page on Amazon India.
Commenting on this e-commerce store, Vikas Agarwal, general manager – India, OnePlus, said,
Having our own e-commerce platform will make the purchase experience for consumers and fans even better, and ensure that consumer gets genuine product. Shipping phones online is a complicated process and right now demand is outstripping supply, especially during festive season, so we will sell through Amazon for some foreseeable future.
The timing for launching its own online store in India seems perfect. With many online players offering discounts during this festive season, a campaign from the device manufacturer seems like a good idea. To draw more customers, the company will also sell exclusive products including apparel and lifestyle accessories.
With the launch of its own online store, OnePlus has joined the likes of Xiaomi and LeEco. Both are China-based smartphone manufacturer, and also have their own e-commerce portal for the Indian market. Xiaomi has also planned a festive season sale on its e-commerce portal from 17th October.
Apart from this online store, the company is soon going to inaugurate a first-of-its-kind experience store in India. The first global experience store of OnePlus will be set up in Bangalore. It is said to be spread over 14,000 sq ft area and will equip all the latest smartphones and accessories from OnePlus.
