zarget seed funding

Zarget, a Saas platform which helps marketers to optimise web pages and conversations, has raised $1.5 million in seed funding round from Accel Partners, Matrix Partners and Girish Mathrubootham, Founder and CEO of Freshdesk.

The company intends to spend the raised money and its resources for the research and development work. It will also use the money to develop other marketing related tools.

Founded in February 2015 by Arvind Parthiban, Naveen Venkatesan and Santhosh Kumar, Zarget makes a tool that captures a website visitor’s usage patterns. This would be particularly useful for marketers who have to sell products online, like those in software-as-a-service (SaaS) companies where the entire sales process happen online.

Zarget provides stats and analytics to help businesses influence buying behaviour of visitors positively. The platform allows companies to perform A/B testing where two versions of a web page are compared to see which performs better.

Commenting on the potential of Zarget products for disruption, Anand Daniel, partner, Accel Partners, said,

The Zarget platform provides businesses with a full-featured, easy-to-use conversion rate optimization tool that completely disrupts the existing single-feature solution market. Zarget is essentially helping companies refine and perfect their customer experience, which is key for any firm that wants to be successful in this day and age.

Zarget platform is purposely built for eCommerce and Internet-based companies and is intended for use by marketers, product managers, and web designers.

To make the overall process easier, the company has also introduced a Chrome plugin so that users no longer need to waste time and valuable resources loading websites into an application.

The startup generates revenue by charging the clients for the number of visitors for whom the experiment is run. In the current year, it is focusing on strengthening its position in the market and then subsequently introducing more products.

It is trying to position itself as an affordable product, made in India, but for the world. The company’s team of 25-members is also looking to come out with more products in the marketing automation space.

In the space of website optimization tools, Zarget will be competing against the likes of Optimizely and Wingify’s Visual Website Optimizer.
