One of India’s first of its kind photography marketplaces, Picsdream has today announced that they have secured fresh funds in an angel round led by Raman Roy, CMD Quatrro and Co-Founder of Indian Angel Network.
Apart from him, other prominent investors who participated in this round includes Ankit Nagori, Ex-CBO Flipkart; Harish Natarajan, Former CEO Bausch & Lomb India; Surojit Shome, India CEO of an MNC Bank; Vipin Chawla, Co-Founder Instant Systems Inc, USA; Baskar Subramaniyan; Madhavan Sreenivasan, Former Co-Founders of Servion and ex Citibanker Vikram Sud.

As a part of the deal, Harish Natrajan and Ankit Nagori have joined the company’s Board of Directors. The company will utilize the funds for selective and targeted marketing to build its community of “Picsdreamers”. It will also invest in product and technology development for an enhanced user experience.
Founded in November 2015 by Mahesh Nair, Picsdream offers photographers a portal to share, showcase, monetize and securely store, their work. It is a community for photographers to learn, share best practices and add value to their work.
It automatically resizes the uploaded high resolution photographs and applies a watermark on them. To ensure that the precious photographs are as safe as can be, the company is also offering on-site and off-site backups.
The platform aims to offer amateur as well as professional photographers, a place to showcase and monetize their talent. Users can upload their original pictures to Picsdream, which then displays them before the relevant audience, who can then choose to purchase the same.
It is also offering services of experts for pricing and other photo related concerns while the image search feature lets buyers identify the picture they want. There is also a key-wording engine that allows photographers to keyword their photographs correctly.
