In order to relieve business owners from the tedious task of buying and selling bulk supplies, Amazon has today launched a new pilot project, dubbed Amazonbusiness.in, a members only B2B eCommerce website.
Amazon says that AmazonBusiness has been specifically designed for businesses such as small offices, entrepreneurs, department stores, kirana stores, drugstores, clinics, hospitals, hotels, and restaurants. As a member, these business owners can purchase thousands of items, including business supplies and products for resale, at wholesale prices and in bulk quantities.
Ordering can be done at any time of the day, and payment is a breeze, thanks to Amazon’s common payment platform. Businesses can also get door-step deliveries through Amazon’s in-house delivery service.
The website is currently members only, and is being tested with a few businesses in Bengaluru region.
AmazonBusiness has thousands of branded products across categories like Office Products & Stationery, Cleaning & Housekeeping Supplies, Bed & Bath, Kitchen & Dining, Health & Personal Care, and Food & Beverages.
Business to Business e-commerce market is a pretty huge affair. The market, according to certain estimates, is valued at as much as $300 Billion. While AmazonBusiness will face stiff competition from players like IndiaMart and ExportersIndia, it still may have an upper hand considering the current services’ state of affairs.
Amazon hasn’t revealed as to when will this platform will be open to all. We’ve mailed Amazon India for a statement and will update the story once we receive any.
