redmi1s

Xiaomi has today launched, Redmi1S, at a rock-bottom price of Rs. 5,999. The phone, in India, will be competing with the highly popular and yet another people’s favourite, the Moto G.

Those interested in buying Redmi 1S can register on Flipkart today, while the first flash sale will be held on September 2. Xiaomi’s VP Hugo Barra had already revealed that a sales mode, similar to Mi3, will be employed in the sale of Redmi1S. He, however, stated that the number of units of Redmi1S, available for Sale, would be much higher, as compared to Mi3.

Xiaomi’s Redmi 1S, like Mi3, is expected to be a blockbuster model, as it will land a quad-core processor, in virtually every Indian smartphone owner’s hands.

This is because, the kind of specifications which Redmi1S boasts of, are currently unavailable in even a 15K priced popular brand phone. For eg., Samsung’s Galaxy Core, priced at somewhere around Rs. 13,000 gives you a normal LCD capacitative touchscreen, with a dual core processor, and an equally disappointing GPU.

Whereas, Xiaomi Redmi 1S, priced at Rs. 6,999 ( and even a lower launch price ) offers you a quad core Snapdragon 400 chipset, running a 4.7″ 720 p HD display. Also, the phone has an 8 mega-pixels rear snapper and a decent 1.6 inch front camera for your beloved selfies.

This kind of aggressive pricing, has largely been the reason for Xiaomi’s such sudden rise to fame. Not to be forgotten is the fact, that Xiaomi has already unseated Samsung to become the largest smartphone vendor in China.
