UrbanPiper, a startup which enables hyperlocal businesses to go online, has announced that it has raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Axilor and a group of angel investors. With the funds raised in this round, the company is planning to enhance its technology. Further, it is also looking to scale up its client base.

Continuing to talk about the same, Saurabh Gupta, chief executive officer of UrbanPiper, said,

Our solutions are user-friendly , intuitive and handle back-end operations. Food delivery has become a significant aspect of business for restaurants across the country and UrbanPiper will help make this experience smooth.

Talking about the fundraising round, Ganapathy Venugopal, chief executive officer of Axilor, said,

UrbanPiper is well-positioned to enable some of the large verticals in the retail segment to go online, both in India and globally. Their marquee customer base gives them a clear edge and existing customers like Chai Point have rated the platform very highly.

UrbanPiper is a business-to-business Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform that offers a bunch of services such as white-label mobile apps, website, in-store engagement tools and customer relationship management (CRM). Through its offerings, the company enables hyperlocal e-commerce, m-commerce, loyalty, wallet, and customer feedback services.

The company further mentions that it is driven by one purpose — to provide businesses with the tools needed to compete in an increasingly technical world. From handling the backend to making intuitive user interfaces and enriching user experiences, the platform caters to everything for these businesses.

The startup has seen increased demand for its services after the government’s move last month to withdraw high-value banknotes as legal tender. This landmark move has caused a lot of startups to change focus and support the budding cashless economy.
