TechRadar has reported that they spotted prototype of an upcoming Samsung 12 inch tablet. The tablet featured a 4K display and was being used in a broadcast demonstration by LTE in the ongoing French Open.

Although the device is purely a reference device for operators to perform tests with, but it was sporting the usual Samsung logo at the top, marked by the physical home button at the bottom. It featured an Ultra HD display (or 4K display).

Specifications for the prototype tablet weren’t available, but TechRadar was told it housed a Snapdragon 801 processor, though experts feel, that by the time this tablet arrives in consumer market, it may sport a 805 processor.

Samsung had earlier, sent invites regarding a special launch event to be held in New York on June 12. Though the invitation doesn’t mention whether the vent is for the launch of Tablets or phones, but it says “Tab into colour”, so we assume that it is a special tablet launch event.
