Automobile veteran Ford is banking on the nostalgic, massively popular ‘Mustang’ brand name to hit a home run in the EV segment. The company has revealed the name of its upcoming EV SUV, which will be release this 17th and be a part of the Mustang lineage. The vehicle is named Mustang Mach-E and after the official unveiling, which will be hosted by Idris Elba on 17th, the car can be pre booked online at a nominal deposit of $500.
Through reserving your name with this token amount, you will gain access to be the owner a limited “First Edition” set of cars, whose details will be revealed by Ford at the launch event. In case you wish to step back from purchase, Ford has mentioned that the reservation amount is completely refundable. Also, the people who deposit the amount will later be given an opportunity to configure their car before taking it home. They will also get to chose their preferred Ford dealer to receive their car.
From the limited information received from Ford, it has been concluded that the car is going to be a crossover-style electric SUV, with an EPA range of at least 300 miles, a charging capacity of 47 miles in just 10 minutes with a 150kW DC fast charger along with two year free charging across Ford’s EV charger network.
