Didn’t we all miss that traditional Marvel post-credits scene in the Avengers Endgame ? Of course we did. Well, looks like Marvel had something else in that magical hat, and it has revealed the same now.

During an interview with Screen Rant, Kevin Feige (President of Marvel Studios) confirmed that an Endgame re-release is bound to hit theaters next week on June 28 with post-credit surprises.

“Not an extended cut, but there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises,” said Feige.

Endgame re-release will be premiered just a week before Far From Home, thus refreshing the events that occurred before Far From Home. With these two movies, Marvel’s Phase 3 is in its climax, paving way for Phase 4. The two linked movies are deeply rooted on the loss that the characters had to face in Endgame like the death of Iron Man.

Far From Home is going to explore this arena through the perspective of Peter Parker (“Spiderman”). Not only will the re-release help the movie get closer to its goal of becoming highest grossing movie, it will also serve to divert audience to Far From Home by compelling them to give a continuity of the events post-Endgame.

Avengers Endgame was this year’s biggest blockbuster (yet) which broke numerous box-office records. However it still missed the benchmark set by Avatar. Well, this re-release could well be Marvel’s final blow to take that position from Avatar.and cover the $45 million gap. Avatar grossed a staggering $2.788 billion worldwide while Endgame is not so far with a $2.743 million. But it should be noted that Endgame has already defeated Avatar in the U.S. by crossing the $800 million mark.

However, a re-release isn’t guaranteed to success. An example of this would be the Avatar re-release which had pocketed merely $10.7 million. Also, with the likes of Toy Story 4 releasing the same week, it would be tough for Endgame to keep up the pace.

Details and release dates for Marvel Phase 4 haven’t been announced yet. The studios is expected to make some announcements during Marvel’s Hall H panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2019. A Black Widow prequel, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, Captain Marvel 2, Spider-man 3 are some of the future projects that Marvel is currently planning.

Feige didn’t mention whether the Avengers re-release will be U.S-only or a worldwide release. It has also been speculated that the extras will feature a tribute to Stan Lee who passed away in November 2019. But no doubt, next weekend will be a treat for Marvel fans with a deleted scene and post-credit extras to keep them glued to their seats.
