In what has the potential to provide a major impetus to women centric initiatives in the country’s startup ecosystem, India’s largest women’s community platform Sheroes has closed its latest round of funding.

This round sees Sheroes on-boarding a slew of new investors including Leo Capital, and a angel investors including Anand Chandrasekaran. The company’s existing backers Lumis Partners, Quintillion Media, and the Withya HR Funds.

This surge in investor interest is based on sound foundations. Founded by Sairee Chahal in 2014, Sheroes has since then generated significant numbers. Today, the company has over 5 million numbers and its app has crossed over 1 million downloads.

The company’s offerings are centred around women, and include enterprise solutions like SHE – A platform that aims to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace. It also offers managed remote solution programs, brand solutions, and a dedicated helpline for community members.

The company said that it plans to leverage the newly raised funds to further develop its vernacular reach. The company was assisted in its fundraising efforts by Dexter capital advisors, with which it has shared a long standing relationship.
