One of the most anticipated conferences at E3 was also one of the shortest, coming in at just around 25 minutes. Nintendo jumped into the session with a pre-recorded video that detailed the Japanese gaming giant’s plan over the coming months. It talked about updates to the company’s existing titles, new game titles for Nintendo Switch, and other surprising announcements.

Let’s have a brief look at the major announcements and teaser trailers from the conference:

Super Mario Odyssey

Yes, our favorite plumber is coming back to entice us with a brand new game title. Called Super Mario Odyssey, this was the final trailer release of the conference but we need to address the first thing. The game continues to offer the core Mario experience with the twist that you’re now able to throw your hat and possess enemies for a short period of time. It is still an open-world exploration experience and release on October 27 on Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Releasing in the holiday season of 2017, Monolith Soft’s Xenoblade Chronicles 2 received an extended trailer release at Nintendo’s E3 conference. This is just another RPG gaming experience, which shows off the world with an intriguing resemblance to elements shown off in its predecessor.

Pokemon RPG for Nintendo Switch

No Nintendo presentation is complete without talking about Pokemon. If you’re a fan of these monsters then there’s some exciting news in store for you. As the title suggests, a new ‘core RPG’ Pokemon game is in the works for the company’s new hybrid console, Nintendo Switch. It was announced on stage that one should not expect this game to be out for more than a year.

Rocket League for Nintendo Switch

Nintendo Spotlight is not only about the company’s own releases but the platform as a whole. Thus, third-party developer Psyonix has announced that Rocket League will make its way to Nintendo Switch by the end of this year’s holiday season. As expected, the game will feature exclusive content from the company’s franchises and other important cross-network gaming capabilities. Keep an eye out for this one if you won a Switch console.

New Metroid games

The Japanese gaming giant announced that a new Metroid Prime 4 game for Nintendo Switch is presently in the works. And this is going to be one of the major Metroid installments in over ten years, which is also coming to their latest console platform — which is expected to be pushed further with a new Mini console in a couple years (as speculations say).

In addition, Nintendo’s side-scrolling Metroid 2: Samus Returns action game is getting a remake for the 3DS. The announcement was made in its post-conference Treehouse livestream and a September 15 release date has been set for the same.

Zelda: Breath of the Wild DLC’s

One of the most preferred gaming titles for the company’s Switch console will have to this RPG action game. Breath of the Wild, as announced in the conference, is being upgraded via the release of two expansion (DLC) packs.

The first pack called The Master of Trials is scheduled to release on June 30 and will bring along several new cool features such as map tracking for the last 200 hours, new navigation options, modes, armors, and outfits.

The second pack, on the other hand, is expected to make its debut in the holiday season. It will expand on the story line and can be picked up only through a bundled pack, which cost $19.99 (approx Rs 1,300).

In addition, Nintendo did also announce some other games and updates to their platform such as Kirby is coming to Switch, brand new trailer for Switch’s Fire Emblem Warriors and a new Yoshi game for Switch.
