Before launching its latest device in India, Korean giant LG wants to ensure that the consumers here are interested in their flagship device or not. For doing so, LG has today opened up a pre-registration desk which allows users to register their interest towards LG G6.

The minimalistic form generated by LG inquires about your basic info including the mobile number and email ID, but not payment details if you wish to demonstrate your interest. You can visit the LG website right here, if you’re among the interested ones and are eagerly waiting for LG to debut the G6 in the country.

This registration process should not be confused with a pre-booking, you will not be queued in line for those willing to purchase the smartphone. The page only allows you to demonstrate your preference towards the LG G6. Since the email ID and contact number are the only things that are being asked for, it is possible that LG will intimate you when the pre-order actually initiates in India.

Other than this, LG has skipped on the details of the smartphone’s launch date and other queries. Although, with the launch of a pre-register interest page, it is apparent that the device will soon land in India as well.

If reports are to be believed, the phone will cost you around ₹50,000 – 55,000 in India and will compete with the likes of Sony’s XZ series, Google Pixel series and HTC U devices. However, it will face major heat from Samsung Galaxy S8 series, launching tomorrow in India.

With not much of a difference in the pricing of the two phones, Samsung offers better features with an Infinity display —  which will certainly entice the customers. Also, considering the huge popularity of Samsung devices here despite the battery explosion, LG will still have to jump some hoops in the smartphone race. This lines with company’s gameplay of pre-registration of interest. It will help LG to determine approximate revenues from the device, ahead of its launch itself.

Unveiled at MWC 2017, the G6 comes with a 5.7-inch QHD+ ‘Full Vision’ display that has a resolution of 2880×1440 pixels with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The Korean giant has packed a brand new user interface into the handset, called UX 6.0, the user interface has been fully optimised for LG G6’s display. The device comes with a Snapdragon 821 processor running on Android 7.0 Nougat.
