Redmi Pro

Xiaomi is soon going to launch its flagship smartphone — Mi 6. But, the said phone is not going to see the daylight until April. However, there is another smartphone that the company is expected to launch this month — Redmi Pro 2. As per various reports, the phone will be launched ahead of Mi 6.

As the name itself suggests, the smartphone will be a successor to the Redmi Pro. The original Redmi Pro got attention mainly because it was the company’s first smartphone to come with a dual-camera setup.

As per the reports, the camera setup on the back of the Redmi Pro 2 will be similar to that of its predecessor, meaning it will sport a dual-camera setup. While a few reports also claim the smartphone might feature a 12-megapixel sensor on the back of the Redmi Pro 2.

Further, the phone is said to pack a Helio P25 processor instead of a Snapdragon 660 chipset, which was earlier suggested to power the device. The SoC has an octa-core CPU that consists of four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at up to 2.5GHz and another four that only go up to 1.6GHz. The display on the phone is expected to be 5.5-inches with full HD resolution.

It is also being speculated that Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 might come in two variants as far as the memory department is concerned — one with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage and another with 6GB RAM and 128GB of onboard memory.

Xiaomi has not yet confirmed anything about the Redmi Pro 2 smartphone. So, there is no concrete information available about the pricing and availability for the phone. But since the phone is slated to launch by the end of this month, it will not be a long wait.

Just to remind you, the Xiaomi Redmi Pro was announced last year. It featured a 5.5-inch OLED display, and the device was made available in three variants. The lower-end model had 3GB RAM,  32GB of internal storage and was powered by a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor. The other two variants came with a MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor, 3GB or 4GB RAM and 64GB or 128GB of internal storage.
