With an aim to become the top cab-aggregator in the country, Ola has today further strengthened its human assets. The company now on-boards Shalabh Seth as the CEO for Ola Fleet Technologies . Seth will enhance the growth for the Fleet platform by bringing in leasing and other driver-based initiatives into focus and hence creating a comprehensive ecosystem.

On being appointed as the CEO, Seth cheerfully stated,

I am thrilled to be part of Ola and its mission of building mobility for a billion Indians. Ola has led the Industry on customer experience, innovation, agility and most importantly nurturing micro-entrepreneurship in this space.

I strongly believe that the leasing model is a major differentiator for Ola and I’m looking forward to working with Bhavish and the amazing team at Ola to build this business to the next level.

Shalabh Seth has previously worked as Managing Director for SAB Miller India, one of the largest beer companies in the country. He holds a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from BITS Pilani and is an alum of INSEAD, France. Moreover, prior to joing SAB Miller, he has also worked with  ITC Ltd. for 8 years supervising operations, supply chain, and sales.

Hence, Ola now expects Seth to channelize his experience towards managing complex operations for the ride-hailing giant, thereby taking its leasing business to the next level. After losing its valuable VP of new initiatives Sundeep Sahni, the company is keeping its hopes high for the new member of the team. The responsibilities handed over to Seth were previously under the charge of its VP Rahul Maroli. He will now lead its corporate offerings.

Bhavish Aggarwal, CEO and co-founder at Ola further added,

I’m very excited about Shalabh joining us to lead the leasing business, which is a key strategic priority for us. Ola was one of the first companies in the ridesharing space globally to attempt an innovative model like this and I personally believe that tremendous value for the ecosystem can be made possible with an innovative approach to supply.

Ola Fleet technologies were established by the homegrown unicorn as a captive leasing subsidiary for financing cars via its platform along side investing a sum of 5k crore in the same. Through the platform, company focuses on building its own fleet utilizing skilled drivers in the field.

Apart from the mentioned subsidiary, Ola recently took on in its arch-rival Uber by expanding its product-line that includes Shuttle, Share, Rentals, Auto apart from normal cabs. Though Uber doesn’t stand behind in the race among the ride-hailing space, it has also launched the fleet management app ‘UberFLEET’ in all 29 cities across India just about a month ago.
