Samsung discloses its all new audio devices lined up for CES 2017 which includes H7 Bluetooth speaker, a new soundbar and an UHD Blu-ray player. These devices offer Samsung’s proprietary UHQ 32bit audio technology delivering 32 bits of rich, detailed sound from any source that provides 8 to 24bit sound. Jurak Choi, Senior Vice President at Samsung Electronics commented on the award winning technology as,
Delivering clear, crisp, immersive sound is very important to Samsung, and we always strive to create new products that further complement the user experience,This year, we focused on the audiophile who wants a single, simple solution that not only fits their lifestyle, but that simultaneously delivers an unparalleled home audio experience.
Though, Samsung has a strong hold on quality of sound, the new H7 Wireless Speakers lack an intelligent assistant built-in. However, the company could channelize its recently acquired artificial intelligence platform Viv, for the said purpose. The new speakers offer Bluetooth connectivity with wheels attached on device for volume control. Where the world is progressively striving towards hands free devices like Google Home and Amazon Echo, Samsung is still stuck in a rut. Even in Bluetooth-enabled speaker section, it would be difficult for Samsung to beat LG’s levitating speakers.
Speaking on Samsung’s development in the AI department, the company recently acquired Harman for a sum of $8 billion post which the company announced plans for Harman Kardon to be powered by Microsoft’s virtual assistant, Cortana. Further, reports suggest that Samsung’s upcoming phone Galaxy S8 will include a personal assistant named Bixby, though H7 would have got much appreciation if it was equipped with the same Bixby.
The new soundbar is MS750 which also offers UHQ 32bit audio. It can be paired with Samsung Smart Remote Control and can be mounted on a TV featuring a sleek and simple design. Lastly, Samsung revealed its M9500 UHD Blu-ray Player with bluetooth wireless streaming support and samsung smart remote integration across the UHD Ecosystem. The player has been serviced with new features such as Private Cinema Mode, mobile integration, etc. enhancing the user flexibility.
