Google, pixel

Google Pixel and Pixel XL was launched back in October this year. Only within a few months of release, the first party owners of the smartphone are now complaining about software freezing issues. The complaints have been registered on Google product forum with few of them stating,

My phone keeps freezing and I can’t get it to do anything when it does. No response from any buttons for at least a minute and it will just start working randomly

I’m experiencing the same problem. My Pixel XL 128 GB becomes unresponsive randomly. Doesn’t only happen while using a particular app or while doing a particular task. It’s just random. Either I have to wait few minutes until the screen goes to the lockscreen or force a reboot by holding down the power button. Please help guys!!!

The software freeze has been reported to last from few seconds up to few minutes. The problem has come under Google’s attention post registered complains have been out. The cause for the problem is said to be Life 360, a family locator app. The users reported that uninstalling or disabling the app from devices got them away from the problem. But that can’t be the reason for the issue as owners who do not have the app are also facing similar problems.

This is a serious issue to be detected soon as the company claims to provide a special software experience to Google Pixel lineup users. This is the latest problem being faced after issues relating to audio and connecting to LTE Band 4. Though these stated issues have been resolved through Android 7.1.1 Nougat update, the software freezing issue can also be concerned with hardware of the device. Though the issue is not seen on much of the devices, Google will be rolling out a solution soon for the few hundreds of them.
