As Ubisoft’s major Watch Dogs 2 marketing draws towards its ending stages, the publisher’s next concern, it’s extreme sports title, Steep, is ramping up its own marketing campaign. In the previous month, Ubisoft has released a brand new trailer for the game and some insight into the upcoming open beta, where gamers will have an opportunity to take on the steep slopes and skies that the game provides.
And today, Ubisoft has provided us with a fresh new trailer for Steep, which provides some juicy details about the game’s massive online multiplayer features and character customization. Additionally, Ubisoft released some info on the game’s Season Pass alongside this new trailer which you can watch right here.
Multiplayer in Steep
In accordance to Steep’s lead game designer Arnaud Ragot, Steep players will initially be given two primary ways of competing with their friends. The first will obviously be to play solo, completing certain activities in the game for each one of the provided extreme sports. As players continue to complete events, their completion times and other relevant statistics will be shared with their friends as challenges. Once a friend is able to beat a player’s time, the original player will immediately be sent a notification letting them know their friend is much better than them, incentivizing them to pick up their controller and get back at it .
The second way that gamers can enjoy multiplayer in Steep is by taking on each other side-by-side, mano-e-mano. Players can further group up with up to three friends and go head-to-head in any of Steep’s treacherous and thrilling activities. Players will be able to collide with each other either accidentally or intentionally(you know who you are), and alter the outcome of the race.
Steep Season Pass
The already announced Season Pass for Steep will give its players access to a total of three DLC packs, each of these packs will provide the players with new activities and character costumes. Apart from that, players who pick up this Season Pass instead of purchasing the three DLCs separately as they arrive will receive a particular snowman outfit, even helicopter tickets which help to reach rare destinations in the game’s open world quickly, and 10,000 Steep Credits at launch for purchasing costumes and gear. So basically pay more for a slightly better experience in the game. Ubisoft, I truly hoped you were better than this.
The three DLC packs are detailed below:
- Winter Fest Pack introduces the winter sled and puts players’ skills to the test with its new array of challenges. It will also offers fun new exclusive costumes.
- Extreme Pack adds three new exhilarating sports: rocket wings, base jumping and speed gliding. New exclusive costumes will also be part of the Extreme Pack.
- Adrenaline Pack includes the Moonlight Pack, featuring 3 unique night-time challenges and equipment packs for players to show off their style while shining in the dark, along with new costumes, new outfits, new boards and wing-suits.
