For a generation wrangling with battery issues in the cell phones, the Super Charger is a game changer! A Tel Aviv-based start up has produced a piece of technology that can charge a smart phone fully in 30 seconds.
Storedot, a start-up set by the members of the nanotechnology department of Tel Aviv University has come up with a charger prototype that can charge the phone battery in 30-seconds flat.
Storedot’s technology uses a new battery chemistry that has “nanodots” derived from bio-organic compounds called peptides. These nanodots deployed in both the electrode, which stores the battery energy, and the electrolyte, which transfers energy between the battery’s anode and cathode ends allow the battery to charge at superfast speed. The battery pack-about the size of a pack of cards-was premiered on Monday at Microsoft Think Next event in Tel Aviv”, said a report.
The sad part is that it is likely to go into production by 2016-17. But, it is worth a wait!
