To increase its sale for not-so-popular iPhone 5C, Apple has released the 8GB variant of iPhone 5C  in India at ₹ 37,500.

The iPhone 5C was launched in October 2013 along with iPhone 5S and the 8GB variant of the device was first launched in the UK and France. Apple iPhone 5C features 4 inch Retina display and has almost identical internals, including Apple’s A6 chipset, an 8 megapixels rear camera with flash and a 1.2 megapixels front facing camera. The device will be available in the market over the next few days.

As we all are aware that even though Apple globally ranks second to Samsung in terms of shipment but Apple is still to figure among the top 3 players in emerging markets like India. This could probably be the reason for this sharp price cut for iPhone 5C.

As per analysts, India was one of the fastest-growing countries worldwide in terms of smartphone adoption in 2013. This surge has been mainly powered by home grown vendors, which have shown a tremendous and consistent growth over the past four quarters of 2013.
