As if the miserable run of Samsung new flagship handset, Galaxy S5 wasn’t enough, company’s Head of Mobile Design, Chang Dong-Hoon, has been reportedly replaced due to the extremely negative design reviews for Galaxy S5
He will be replaced as the head of the mobile design team by Lee Min-Hyuk. Chang will continue to lead Samsung’s design center which overseas its overall design strategy.
Samsung, in a statement to Reuters, said :
The realignment will enable Chang to focus more on his role as head of the Design Strategy Team, the company’s corporate design center which is responsible for long-term design strategy across all of Samsung’s businesses, including Mobile Communications
The move comes on the backdrop of various Patent infringement cases which Samsung is currently fighting with Apple. It also comes largely due to the extremely negative reviews, which Samsung received on its latest Galaxy S5 smartphone. The Wall Street Journal said the gold-colored back cover on the S5 looked like a band-aid.
Samsung now sells two times more smartphones than Apple, largely thanks to the success of Galaxy range.
