Just days after its debut at the end of March, Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus stepped foot into the Indian sub-continent with a standard variant. They both included 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and are powered by the Korean giant’s in-house Exynos 8895 processors.

But, as announced today, an additional high-end variant of the Galaxy S8 Plus, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage, is going on sale in the country in the coming days. This is a surprising development as this variant of the device was only released and was exclusive to China and South Korea.

That no longer seems to be the case as the high-end Galaxy S8 Plus will go on sale in India on June 9. Pre-orders for this variant of the device will go live on June 2 through homegrown e-tailer giant Flipkart and Samsung Shop. The color variants available for the new spec’d out Galaxy S8 Plus is just one — Midnight Black (which looks pretty swanky, right?)

As for the pricing, the device will cost way steep than the official retail price of the standard variant — around ₹ 64,900. The extra memory and storage will cost you an extra ₹10,000 bucks, meaning you’ll have to shell out ₹74,900 to get the new Galaxy S8 Plus. The Korean giant is presently also running an introductory offer, where you’ll receive a ₹4,499 wireless charger coupled with the device.

It is only the memory and internal storage that’ve bagged an upgrade with this variant, all other specifications and features for the device continue to remain the same. The Galaxy S8 Plus features a 6.2-inch screen curved on both edges with a 3,500mAh battery, which is a little on the higher side than the Galaxy S8 but that’s equally powerful as well.

The Galaxy S8 Plus will still be powered by the company’s Exynos 8895 processor and include a 12-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel selfie lens. It is water and dust resistant (IP68 rating), includes fingerprint and iris scanner for security needs. Also, you get Samsung’s own digital assistant, Bixby, in tow but it isn’t any good as of now.

If you’re not looking to go all out, then the standard variants of the device should suffice your needs. While Samsung Galaxy S8 will cost you around ₹57,90o, the Galaxy S8 Plus model comes with a price tag of ₹64,900. You can currently purchase any of these two devices from Flipkart.
