Quite a few OnePlus 7 pro owners received weird notifications earlier, leaving them puzzled. The Oneplus 7 phones all around had been receiving spam notifications this Monday morning containing strings of Chinese characters and random letters.

Upon tapping the notification, the user would be directed to an error message displaying “browser not found.”

The issue however, stemmed not from any malicious party but the company itself.

OnePlus informed on it’s forum that the notifications were the result of internals tests of the company’s upcoming Android Q system update. “During an internal test, our OxygenOS team accidentally sent out a global push notification to some OnePlus 7 Pro owners,” the company said in a tweet.

OnePlus added saying that they would ensure the happening of such a problem does not take place in the future. Users had been posting screenshots of the spam worldwide. It seems to be silly mistake by OnePlus.
