It’s 2019, and the tech world is already abuzz with the Nokia 9 (aka Nokia 9 PureView) rumors and leaks, which is arguably one of the most anticipated phones of the year. The hallmark feature of the phone is its ludicrous penta rear-camera setup. Yes, you read that right. The phone sports 5 cameras at the back!

This isn’t HMD’s first venture with absurd camera smartphones. People lost their minds back in 2013 when Nokia came out with an insane 41 MP camera Windows phone – Lumia 1020. So, its safe to expect our minds to be blown away by even with the forthcoming Nokia 9. However, we still do not know how Nokia is going to play with its penta camera-setup. No info has been leaked about the camera lenses specifications. But my guess is, it would feature, a primary lens, two optical zoom sensors a wide angle lens, and a monochrome sensor.

According to Evan Bliss, a trusted source for leaks of upcoming phones, the Nokia 9 looks something like this:

And this is not all, according to a leaked promotional video by Mysmartprice, users of the Nokia 9 will be able to capture photos with all the five sensors simultaneously and will also be able to capture 10x more light to enhance night-time photography.

The Finnish smartphone company is leaving no stones unturned. While it is packing a punch in the camera department, it is by no means lacking in others. The phone is likely to feature a 5.99 2K PureDisplay, with support for HDR 10. And is expected to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 6 GB of RAM. Nokia 9 will also be coming with a slew of other features such as Qi Wireless Charging and in-screen fingerprint reader. Given the current line-up of Nokia phones, even the 9 PureView is going to be an Android One phone. Meaning, it would run on the latest Android Pie OS and receive continuous updates for two years.

The design of the phone is slightly derivate of the Nokia 8 Sirocco with its reflective glass back and stainless steel rails. While initial renders showed the phone to feature a notch, the latest leaks indicate no notch will be present.

According to reports, the device will be launching as early as the end of this month rather than its expected launch at MWC 2019 (Mobile World Congress).
