We still have a couple months until this year’s Google I/O conference and the tech giant has today updated the official website with details of the ticket application window. If you’re familiar with the said developer fiesta, then you’ll be familiar with the ticketing process for the event.

Earlier, Google opened registration on a first-come, first-serve basis and the tickets would fly away, with the massive traffic surge leading the website to crash. But the company has now implemented a lottery-based system, where it randomly picks nearly 5,000 applications. It then provides these developers with the opportunity to purchase a ticket. Though the system is more optimized but getting access to the developer conference has become rather difficult.

Now, we cannot be sure of whether we’re lucky enough to get our hands on one of these entry passes. But, you can fill in applications for the lottery system in the said window — February 22, 10:00 a.m PST to February 27, 5:00 p.m PST. This application window can now be utilised to stand a chance and attend Google I/O 2017. As for the pricing, Google hasn’t disclosed the said info as of yet. But, if take a look at last year, the company charged $900 for developer admission and $300 for student admission.

Google has already announced the official date and location for this year’s I/O developer conference. And just like last year, the company is hosting the event in their backyard at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View — close to their headquarters. This three-day event will run from 17th to 19th May in the open space with big high-mounted tents. The said dates were revealed through a cryptic puzzle game, which was tweeted out by Firebase and found on Github.

Now, we’re a step closer to the developer conference but there is currently no information on what Google will unveil at this event. We will most likely be treated with the next iteration of Android; ChromeOS, Firebase, and Daydream updates; AMP improvements and other new features and hardware devices. Fingers crossed!
