Gionee has launched a new smartphone in its M-series, Gionee M2017. And as with the all M-series smartphone, this one too comes with a massive battery capacity. The Gionee M2017 features a 7,000mAh polymer lithium-ion battery. The phone has a metal frame and leather back, giving it the premium look.

The phone comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD AMOLED low power consumption curved display clubbed with sapphire glass protection. It is powered by a Snapdragon 653 octa-core chipset with 6GB of RAM. There are two variants based on internal storage —  128GB and 256GB. It does not come with a microSD card slot for expansion of storage.

It comes with a dual rear camera setup, featuring 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel lenses with 2x optical zoom. It also sports an 8-megapixel front-facing camera. On the home button, there is also a fingerprint sensor. As of connectivity, the phone supports Dual-SIM, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG, and USB 2.0 Type-C.

On the software front, the device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based Amigo OS 3.5. The smartphone measures 155.2 x 77.6 x 10.78 mm and weighs 238 grams.

As per the company, the 7,000mAh battery on the phone can deliver up to 25 hours of video playback and 915.42 hours on standby. It also comes with dual fast charging chip and 24W Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 technology support. To offer 7,000mAh battery, the phone packs two 3,500mAh batteries.

The Gionee M2017 will be available for sale in Gold and Black colour options. It is priced 6999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 68,240) for the standard variant while the exclusive model featuring Italian custom alligator leather back is priced at 16,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 1,65,740).

While the phone is already launched in China, there is currently no information regarding the smartphone’s availability outside China.
