The joint venture of Coolpad and LeEco, dubbed as Cool, had previously launched Cool 1 Dual and Cool Changer 1C. Now, the company has launched its flagship smartphone — Cool Changer S1 in China. As we reported earlier, the specs of the phone are somewhat similar.

The phone features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display with screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. Under the hood, Cool Changer S1 is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 quad-core processor. This is the same processor used by LeEco in Le Pro3 smartphone.

In terms of internal storage, the phone offers three options — 32GB, 64GB or 128GB. While the 32GB ROM model comes with 4GB of RAM, the 64GB and 128GB variants packs 6GB of RAM. As of camera, the smartphone comes with a 16 MP f/2.0 Sony IMX298 powered rear camera with PDAF sensor and dual tone dual LED Flash. On the front, it features an 8 MP front facing snapper.

One of the main feature of the phone is the dual symmetrical speakers. The Cool Changer S1 comes with a Smart PA amplifier from Harman. Connectivity options include dual SIM, 4G, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1, OTG, and USB Type-C support.

The smartphone packs a 4070mAh battery, which supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 technology. As of software, the phone runs LeEco’s EUI 5.8 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS.

The Cool Changer S1 is priced at 3199 Yuan (approx. Rs. 31,990) for the top end variant featuring 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The 4GB RAM/64GB storage and 6GB RAM/64GB storage are priced at 2499 Yuan (approx. Rs. 24,990) and 2699 Yuan (approx. Rs. 26,990) respectively.

It comes in two color variants – black and gold. The device has already gone on sale in China via LeMall, Coolpad, JD.com, Suning Tesco and TMall. There is still no information available about the launch of these “Cool” smartphones in the Indian market.
