There are two types of cars in the world. One category includes the Audi R8 Star of Lucis from Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, and the second includes…well every other car on the planet. Audi’s uniquely fabulous Final Fantasy XV-themed Audi R8 costs almost half a million dollars; going by its looks though, it is worth every single penny.
In case you are unaware of it, Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV is a 2016 Japanese computer-animated science fantasy anime film. The film was developed primarily by Square Enix’s dedicated CGI studio Visual Works and is based on the popular 2016 video game Final Fantasy XV. If you are a fan of the franchise, you have probably seen and have been mesmerized by this car earlier — and wished that it was real.
Developer Square Enix has collaborated with the carmaker to come up with a brand new “Star of Lucius” edition of the Audi R8. The car is absolutely, mind-bogglingly, drop-dead gorgeous and Square Enix is offering you the opportunity to actually purchase the car as part of promoting Final Fantasy’s November 29th launch.
However, the first perquisite to even thinking about buying this dream car is one that will make you quickly lose interest — not in the car, but in purchasing it. You need to have, and need to be willing to spend somewhere around 50,000,000 yen, or roughly $470,000, because that is exactly what the car costs. Translated into Indian currency, that is somewhere around INR 30 million.
Announcing the car, Audi said,
Audi has played a pivotal role in the evolution of automobiles, always driven by its Vorsprung durch Technik slogan. One of its pinnacle achievements is the Audi R8, a genuine handcrafted work of art. Components are manually produced, assembled and polished to lustrous perfection by a small team of master craftsmen at the quattro GmbH factory.
From the wheels to the design, the car is exquisite over every inch of its glorious body. Forgive me if I sound too poetic but this car is simply too beautiful. Here are a couple more pictures:
