HTC has today announced its new smartphone — HTC Bolt. At the moment, the phone is exclusive to Sprint’s network. The phone’s name comes from Usain Bolt, the world’s fastest man, who has been roped in for the promotion of this smartphone.

With Usain Bolt promoting the smartphone, the network wants to highlight its network technology. Sprint’s network is said to provide faster download speeds than other networks. This is the first device to support Sprint’s LTE Plus three-channel carrier aggregation. It is already live in Chicago, San Francisco, Minneapolis, Dallas, Denver, Kansas City, Cleveland, and Columbus.

Commenting on the launch of its new device, André Lönne, president of HTC America, says,

For HTC Bolt, we took everything that was so great about the HTC 10 and made it even better. We took the award-winning design and made it water-resistant. We took the awesome audio and made it more personal. And, of course, we took the wireless speed and supercharged it with Sprint, turning HTC Bolt into a smartphone unlike any you’ve ever experienced.

The phone comes with a 5.5 inch Quad HD Super LCD 3 display with curved-edge Corning Gorilla Glass 5. It is powered by a Snapdragon 810 processor, which is quite disappointing as its successor — Snapdragon 820 is now available. The handset also packs 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

On the imaging front, the device features a 16MP camera on the back with OIS, Phase-detect autofocus(PDAF), and a f/2.0 aperture and 28mm focal length lens. On the front, it has an 8MP camera with support for auto HDR and super-wide panorama mode.

The HTC Bolt is rated IP57, meaning it’s mostly resistant to dust and splashes of water. It is also following this year’s trend of removing the 3.5mm port. Instead, you’re supposed to use the USB-C port to listen to music. There is a fingerprint sensor in the home button.

It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat with all of its features, including multi-window and free unlimited Google Photos storage. This is the first HTC smartphone to be powered by the next iteration of Android. The smartphone is powered by a 3200mAh battery which also supports QuickCharge 2.0 technology. It also comes with NFC support, enabling you to make payments using your phone.

The HTC Bolt is available in two color variants: silver and gunmetal. The Bolt goes on sale starting today for $600 and costs $25/month over 24-month installments.
