Google’s all new virtual reality headsets are coming on the 10th of November. The company has made an announcement to the effect through a blog post and has also opened a store page for the Daydream View. Google has a lot of its hopes pinned upon the headset, as it is the first device to support its upcoming Daydream VR platform.
Announcing the launch of the headset, Google said,
Last month, we announced Daydream View, a comfortable and easy-to-use virtual reality headset and controller powered by any Daydream-ready phone. It will be available November 10th on the Google Store and at retailers across five countries.
The headsets deploy soft, skin friendly material. You have soft cloth and foam integrated within a plastic frame. The Daydream VR platform is Google’s attempt to move into virtual reality. The platform has been built into Android Nougat and while only Pixel and Pixel XL devices will support the Daydream View, Google is expected to announce other handsets that will support the headset in the near future.
Coming to the capabilities of the platform, Daydream View can offer you everything from movies to games to the chance of exploring new places –all in state-of-the-art virtual reality.
With Daydream View and a Daydream-ready phone like Pixel, you’ll be able to kick back in your personal cinema, explore new worlds and get in the game like never before.
The headsets are priced differently in different regions. In the US, the price tag for the Daydream View headset carries a $79 mark. Here are the prices and seller information for the Daydream View according to region.

Daydream View will pack a slew of applications including offerings from the New York Times and The Wall Street Journal. As far as games are concerned, the Daydream View will come with titles such as Turret shooter, Gunjack 2 etc. And lets not forget the exclusive tie-up with the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them franchise, that will let Daydream View users explore the magical world of Harry Potter.
The Daydream VR will also let users stream Hulu’s entire library of TV shows, movies and VR content along with exclusive content from YouTube. Along with streaming YouTube videos on a virtual big screen, users can also experience immersive VR videos from top YouTube creators.
Google has been making a lot of efforts in ramping up its presence in Virtual reality. The Daydream View will mark the first time that the company launches a serious product in the niche for the general public. The company has made sure to stack up a lot of offerings for those who will purchase the Daydream View VR headsets, however, we will have to wait until the 10th to see the kind of reception it receives from the public.
