Game publisher/developer Gamblit Gaming has recently finalized a deal to bring their virtual reality based horror experience, Brookhaven Experiment first-person shooter game to sponsoring casino floors.

On Tuesday, the California-based studio announced that it had partnered with the Chicago-based game developer/publisher Phosphor Games to create aan entirely “gamblified” version of the Brookhaven Experiment, the game that debuted earlier this year on  the HTC Vibe smartphone to great acclaim.

Gamblit will demo the proposed version of the acclaimed title during next week’s Global Gaming Expo (G2E) which will take place in Las Vegas. The game will process on  Gamblit’s brand new Virtual Reality Cube (VRC) gaming platform, which will also be making its public debut alongside at the expo.

We are thrilled to announce our partnership with Phosphor Games to bring this first of its kind VR gambling experience to life, The Brookhaven Experiment is not only the most petrifying, heart stopping and realistic experience I’ve had in VR, but it truly embodies the concept of virtual reality. Phosphor Games is a company that pushes the boundaries of innovation and we are excited to be revolutionizing the casino floor with them in an all new wagering experience – and judging from everyone who has played it, a very memorable one for players and their friends

said Darion Lowenstein, chief marketing officer, Gamblit Gaming, in a statement.

Darion Lowenstein, Gamblit Gaming CMO told Games Industry Biz, during an interview, that the plan is basically to allow players to place a bet on how well they’ll perform or how long they’ll survive in Brookhaven’s zombie-filled environment, with wagers which’ll go as low as $15(Approx Rs.1000) or as high as $50(Approx Rs.3300).

Lowenstein stated that wagering will revolve around players beating specified challenges, such as surviving various rounds, while all observers can wager on anything from whether a player achieves a certain rate of shooting accuracy to whether a player’s in-game ‘health’ will dip below a specified percentage.

Lowenstein further added that Gamblit has addressed the potential for groups of friends to collude with each other on certain wagers by tying up any spectators’ bets to those of the one who’s playing.

Spectators are betting on how well the player does with specific goals – the same ones the player has, not things like dying or losing… Everyone benefits if the player does well, not if they lose.

With The Brookhaven Experiment, we wanted to be on the forefront of the video game industry as it stepped into the new world of virtual reality, and now with this fantastic partnership with Gamblit Gaming, we have the opportunity to be on the forefront of the transformation of the real-money gaming industry as well, Gamblit is the leader in this new vision for the casino floor, and we could not be happier in partnering with them to have Brookhaven, already a hit at home and in arcades, be a hit for the VRC as well.

said Justin Corcoran, CEO, Phosphor Games Studio, in a statement.
