If you’ve been waiting for The Last Guardian for 7 years now, 2 months should pass by at the blink of an eye. The pinnacle of all game delays(which, i’m assuming, will soon become a classic case study) is about to suffer, supposedly, one final delay before finally releasing to an eager fan base.

The Last Guardian, Sony and gen DESIGN’s  next generation title similar to Shadow of the Colossus, has been delayed again. Previously, it was given an October 25 release date but will now launch on December 6 this year instead.

As an update which you can find on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Entertainment’s president Shuhei Yoshida disclosed that the extra two months are needed to fix some final bugs and glitches. But, we have to see if seven years worth of hard work behind this title emulates in the form of superior gameplay experience.

The Last Guardian development team is fast approaching major milestones in production and has made the tough decision to delay the release of The Last Guardian a few weeks. A delay is a difficult decision, particularly with this game, but we have encountered more bugs than anticipated while in the final stages of development. To ensure that The Last Guardian delivers on the experience that the game’s creators have envisioned, we need to take the extra time to work on those issues.

He also goes on to add,

Fumito Ueda (gen Design) and Japan Studio have a wonderful vision for The Last Guardian’s touching, emotional journey of friendship and trust, and we want to deliver the most polished experience possible for our fans who have supported us for so long.

Following the years of defeaning silence from the gen Design developers and further speculation that the project had been innocuously cancelled, Sony announced recently that the development of The Last Guardian had shifted from the PS3 to the PS4 at E3 2015. The game was first revealed in 2009 as a PS3 title.
