The exciting new game play reveal of Mass Effect: Andromeda at Sony’s Live Playstation Pro showcase finally provided it’s thirsty fan base with a glimpse of what the upcoming title in the blockbuster series is going to look like. And since that glimpse we’ve been given some interesting new information about the game’s main protagonists.

The two protagonists you came across in the footage are actually siblings, both playable characters, existing in the same universe. Oh and, you probably know who the father is (wink wink).

While talking to PlayStation Access, BioWare’s creative director Mac Walters narrated the very same tech demo we saw during E3. However, he chose to speak more about the characters within it.

We’re seeing our male character, at E3 we got to see our female character.

Walters says for the male character who can be seen running and thrusting around in the high tech alien cavern-like region in the tech-demo.

What a lot of people don’t know—a little surprise here—is that these two are brother and sister. And they both exist in the game world at the same time. So if you’re playing as the female Ryder, your brother is out there somewhere in the universe.

Another fun little tidbit is the character we saw two E3s ago, in the N7 [armour], is actually their father. So we have got the full Ryder family revealed—we’ll do names and things in the future as well.

See, it’s reveals like these that successfully build up hype for a long awaited franchise return. You go Mass Effect!!

Everything you just saw above is the in-game footage, says Walters. However, it has been cut together conveniently just for demonstration purposes. Expect the usual host of dialogue options come full release.

Also, expect a new trailer along with more insight into the new Mass Effect Universe in a couple of months by November 7th. Mark your calenders, my friends!
