Social media has started emerging from a mere social networking platform for people to an effective medium of communication for businesses. Facebook Messenger is already no less than a powerful business communication tool.
Twitter also continues to make its platform suitable for business organisations. Towards the same objective, Twitter has introduced a new Message button which can be embedded on business websites.
The Twitter development team announced the new message button via a tweet. The button will allow the site visitors to directly message the company on Twitter. Unlike the Tweet, Share, Mention or Hashtag button, this button will enable a more private conversation.
Previously, businesses may have to deal with angry tweets and hashtags in open from customers. Using this button, customers and visitors will also get to contact the company privately and instantly.
Earlier this year, Facebook also rolled out a suite of tools for businesses to leverage the popularity of Messenger. It enabled businesses to put links on their website, pages, ads, and literally anywhere.
Through these links, users can connect with them directly through Messenger. The other tools which Facebook introduced included scannable Messenger codes, Messenger greetings, and business usernames based on Page names.
The company also redesigned its Business Pages recently where it put a Message button on top to allow a user to start chatting with businesses instantly.
Clearly, after wooing the common people and establishing a user base, social media companies are now gearing towards enterprises and business organisations to make use of the readymade audience on their platforms.
This becomes even more important in the case of Twitter which has been struggling to increase its stagnated user base for quite some time and wants to make its platform useful for them as well as companies.
