Automobile News Startups Co-Founder Mayank Batheja Joins CarDekho Parent GirnarSoft As AVP Of Car Owner’s Vertical

The parent company behind and other similar numerous auto portals, GirnarSoft has appointed Mayank Batheja as Associate Vice President of its Car Owners’ business. In his new role, he will be responsible for planning and implementing new initiatives for’s Car Owners’ vertical.

Speaking on the announcement, Amit Jain, co-founder and CEO, GirnarSoft, said,

We are excited to welcome Mayank aboard. We have earlier launched services related to auto insurance, roadside assistance, accessory shopping and tyres to provide solutions to ease car ownership. With his appointment, we are adding another valuable and vital resource that will power our drive for greater scale in this division.

Mayank was previously a part of the management team of eyewear portal Lenskart where he led its home eye checkup division. Mayank has held leadership positions in various startups as well as established companies. He co-founded which was acquired by Aspiring Minds, an online skills assessment company.

During early days of his work life, he was associated AIESEC for the India leadership team and has also worked with Alcatel-Lucent as transformation manager – North West Central Africa Region.

On joining, Mayank said, has established itself as one of the most innovative companies in the Indian startup ecosystem. The car owners business opportunity is both unique and very exciting. I’m keen to add value to the company and its millions of users.

Girnarsoft has brought a number of entrepreneurs on its team in the past few months.

Some of these names include Umesh Hora, founder of The Mind Cafe India, who joined as CFO; Abhishek Shah, co-founder of and, who leads BikeDekho; and Amit Monga, founder of Fitrrati and, who is Deputy Director- auctions.

The company has been expanding the scope of its most famous auto portal- as well as others like Bikedekho for some time now by establishing them as a one stop solution to all the problems and needs of buyers.

Through a string of acquisitions and investments, GirnarSoft is aiming to bring various features to its auto portals such as roadside assistance services (Help On Wheels acquisition); insurance (partnership with Coverfox); building virtual/augmented reality platform for users to feel the car (Drishya360 acquisition); car testing services (investment in car testing and benchmarking firm Advanced Structures India (ASI)), etc.
