Jaipur-based GirnarSoft, the parent company behind numerous auto portals like Cardekho, Bikedekho, etc, has made a strategic investment in car testing and benchmarking firm Advanced Structures India (ASI).
Girnarsoft will leverage ASI’s expertise in testing and measurement to significantly improve car search experience on its portfolio of auto sites that will objectively showcase metrics and scores.
ASI is an automotive engineering, testing, and R&D solutions firm which conducts scientific tests on cars to remove the judgement and subjectivity associated with parameters such as fuel efficiency, noise, vibration, comfort, acceleration, and braking.
Since its inception in 2014, ASI has so far worked with large OEMs to help them create lightweight yet durable and efficient structures, among other automotive products.
On receiving investment from GirnarSoft, Mr. Vaibhav Kumar, Co-founder, ASI, said,
ASI was established with an aim to provide unbiased and scientific testing of cars to provide the most accurate results. Joining GirnarSoft will allow us to integrate our existing technical framework into its robust technological infrastructure and develop a repository of credible reviews for users.
This is GirnarSoft’s sixth deal in the last two years. Recently it has acquired roadside assistance service Help on Wheels, Drishya360, and price comparison website BuyingIQ. It had also acquired its main rivals Zigwheels and Gaadi.com and incubated and invested in CollegeDekho.com.
Talking about the latest investment, Amit Jain Co-founder and CEO, GirnarSoft said,
ASI has better tools to test the car on actual Indian roads for mileage and all other key parameters important for customers. CarDekho will strive to become the most trusted source for auto buyers to get scientifically backed information and car and bike ratings. This deal will add a new layer of capability to CarDekho’s existing tools for car reviews.
Beginning from Cardekho.com and then through strategic investments and acquisitions and launching other successful digital properties such as BikeDekho.com and PriceDekho.com, GirnarSoft has slowly evolved into one of the leading consumer internet companies.
The company went international in 2015 with an auto portal CarBay.com in multiple countries in Asia and Middle East. With the latest Series C funding round led by Google Capital, GirnarSoft has raised over $65 million from investors including Sequoia Capital, Hillhouse Capital, Tybourne, HDFC Bank, Times Internet and Mr. Ratan Tata.
