Samsung has today announced the launch of its flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge in the Indian market. The phones were unveiled a couple of weeks ago.

The smartphones comes with a refined design language, advanced imaging capabilities, streamlined software functionality and unparalleled connectivity with a host of services and experiences. These devices have been made using the perfected 3D thermoperforming process to bind the glass and metal together seamlessly from every angle.

In terms of specifications, the Samsung Galaxy S7 features a 5.1-inch QHD Super Amoled display, while the Galaxy S7 Edge packs a 5.5-inch QHD Super Amoled display. The always-on display allows users check notifications, time, and date without having to wake up the device.

Both phones come with 4GB of RAM, a 12-megapixel ‘Dual Pixel’ rear camera with an f/1.7 aperture and smart Optical Image Stabilizer feature, as well as a 5-megapixel front camera with f/1.7 aperture.

The smartphones are powered by Exynos 8890 64-bit octa-core (2.3GHz quad-core + 1.6GHz quad-core) processor. Samsung has also incorporated liquid cooling technology to counter heating issues in these phones.

Samsung claims that both Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are the first smartphones to come with Vulkan, the next generation graphics API that was brought to life in partnership between Samsung, Google and Khronos group. It delivers PC-quality gaming experience on a mobile device.

The devices supports 4G LTE Cat 9, along with the regular set of connectivity options. With IP68 ratings, the devices are water and dust resistant and can sustain up to 30 minutes submerged in a meter and a half of water.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge runs the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and packs a 3000mAh and 3600mAh battery, respectively.

Introducing the new devices, Mr. Manu Sharma, Director, Mobile Business, Samsung India Electronics said:

The 32 GB version of the Samsung Galaxy S7 is priced at Rs. 48,999, while the same storage variant of Galaxy S7 Edge is priced at Rs. 56,900. The smartphones will be available in India starting from March 18, 2016 in Black Onyx, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colors.

The pre-booking has already started for both the devices and continues till March 17, 2016. All customers who pre-book during this period will receive a Gear VR free with the device.

As for the introductory offers, Samsung has partnered with Vodafone to offer twice voice and data for the first 6 months to select Vodafone Red plan customers.

Samsung is also offer multiple mobile accessories like Clear Cover, Battery Pack, Flip Wallet, LED View Cover, S View Cover, Clear View Cover and Wireless Charger Stand on the purchase of the new smartphones.
