Personal assistant app Wishup, which wishes to act as a one stop solution for all service needs, has secured an undisclosed amount of seed funding led by startup accelerator 500 Startups and startup discovery platform TracxnLabs.
Other investors who participated were Mato Peric, former Partner and Global Managing Director at Rocket Internet Ventures, and a group of angel investors through TracxnSyndicate. The fresh funds will be deployed by the startup to expand its technology team as well as to expand its services to other cities. Currently, it offers its services in the NCR region and Bangalore.
Wishup also announced the launch of Beta version of its Android app and the plans to launch an iOS app in future. Till now, the startup has been offering its services through FB Messenger and Whatsapp. In fact, the startup was launched in July 2015 with a phone number only.
We started with my personal WhatsApp number and scaled up to 1,000 requests per day within the first month of operation. That’s when we validated the market potential and decided to come up with a more personalised platform on mobile phones.

The idea was to offer all kinds of services through just a message on Whatsapp. These services include booking taxis, hotel reservations, sending gifts, buying grocery, booking movie tickets, household services such as plumber, electrician, etc.
Users do not need to pay any extra charges to Wishup and pay only the amount charged by the services. They can even share their To-Do lists consisting of daily mundane activities with Wishup which then does all the work.
Wishup claims to have acquired over 10000 customers since July 2015. It has begun to offer its services through FB Messenger where users can ping the Wishup team to get things done for them. And now to make the process even more simpler through just a series of clicks, Wishup has launched its Android app.
Through the app, customers can easily take advantage of Wishup to all get all the things they need to get done through just a few clicks. We expect the app to give more customers the experience of using our offering,
Wishup is also working to bring artificial technology to its platform for cab bookings and mobile recharges. It plans to introduce Wishbots at the customer end and Opbots at the operator’s end.
Wishbots are autonomous chat bots at the customer end which will understand each request and will act upon it for certain specific categories like phone recharge, cab bookings.
On the other hand, Opbots at the operator end will take the place of operators when they are busy and will help in logging requests from users and categorising them automatically. These features are in the developmental stage and are expected to be launched in the near future.
