Bro4u.com, a Bangalore-based home services marketplace, has raised undisclosed amount of funding from Sargod Ventures, led by Alok Sargod. With the funding, the company will now aim strengthen its position in Bangalore.

Bro4U is a hyper local home services app which promises seven minutes turnaround for users, which is the quickest compared to any competitors available in this domain. It provides services in more than 20 categories such as Cleaning, Electrical & Computer and Document services to name a few.

The company’s mission is to simplify people’s lives by providing an array of personalised services at their fingertips and then at their doorstep. Its vision is to eliminate the endless hassle of finding a relevant vendor for a service. It also has a mobile application for on-demand services, which is currently available for Android smartphones.

Pramod Hegde, CEO of the company, has also confirmed that the company is currently in talks with some Venture Capitalists to raise another round of funding, through which, the company will expand its operations to Pune and Hyderabad.

It claims to have a unique model in terms of matching users’ need as customers can see the available service providers in real time while booking service. Pramod says:

This is just like how you see nearby cars in Olacabs, similarly here you see nearby service providers and users can book them seeing their prices and rating. This establishes more confidence to customers as they get instant result.

The home services market in India, though still nascent, has seen quite a lot of startups crowding up this segment. Bro4U competes with the likes of better-funded rivals like UrbanClap, Zimmber and LocalOye.

UrbanClap recently raised $25 million at a valuation of more than $100 million. Zimmber too, recently raised $2 million in Series A round. On the other hand, LocalOye has laid-off around 30% of its staff as the company has started feeling heat in the market.
