MakeMyTrip Brings In Rival GoIbibo’s Co-Founder Deepak Tuli As Senior VP

MakeMyTrip is announcing an interesting executive announcement today. The company has brought in, non other than Deepak Tuli, co-founder of Rival platform GoIbibo as Senior VP in the executive team.

Deepak, who is the co-founder of GoIbibo and was also associated with Yatra in its launch team to set up the non-air business for the company. He will join the Make MyTrip team as senior VP -Growth business and will look after the business of accommodation space for MakeyTrip.

His (Deepak) rich experience, deep understanding and knowledge of the diverse aspects of the travel e-commerce ecosystem will be a valuable asset as we ready ourselves for the next phase of growth. Accommodations space in the country is growing at a fast pace and is a key focus area at MakeMyTrip.

Rajesh Magow, co-founder and CEO-India, MakeMyTrip said in a press statement.

Deepak Tuli has over 10-year experience in various segments of e-commerce such as mobile platforms, digital marketing, product management, P&L management and CRM among others.

On joining MakeMyTrip, he said that his role was exciting and challenging at the same time.

The e-commerce industry is growing rapidly in the country and accommodations segment has emerged as a new area within the travel e-commerce ecosystem.

MakeMyTrip has made some key appointments in its crucial leadership positions over the last few months. The company recently appointed founder of Anshuman Bapna as its Chief Product Officer. Earlier this year, the company also brought former chief marketing officer of Bharti AXA Life Insurance, Saujanya Shrivastava, to its team as its CMO.
